As they put the finishing touches to what promises to be their masterwork, Grandmaster Gareth has decided to release a couple of songs to bridge the gap.

The first song is called "Dumb Head". Originally sung by the American pop singer Ginny Arnell, this version is based more on Joe Meek's 1964 production of The Sharades.

The strange electronic keyboard used on this track actually used to belong to Joe Meek, bought by producer Brian O'Shaughnessy many years ago. It's called a clavioline and was used on many of Meek's productions, including Telstar. The Dumbettes are Gareth's girl pop prote?ge?s!

"There's Someone At The Window" is an up tempo punky disco track which has become very popular at their gigs. Misty's are playing a few shows this spring. See below for details.

This single is really an aside. 'The Family Amusement Centre' is going to astound your ears and mind - but not for a few months!

Tracklisting:

1 - The Dumbettes - Dumb Head
2 - Misty's Big Adventure - There's Someone At The Window

More info. about the band:

Misty's Big Adventure are a glorious 8 piece band from Birmingham in the UK, made up of brothers and sisters and twins and saxophones and trumpets and cute, weird dancers who produce the most uplifting, life affirming tunes you will hear since Louie Armstrong played with the Lovin Spoonful.

- Misty's Big Adventure have released 4 studio albums, 'Misty's Big Adventure and their place in The Solar Hi-fi System', 'The Black Hole', 'Funny Times' and 'Television's People'

- Brute Force was on Apple Records in the Sixties. He released a single called "The King Of Fuh" which was produced by George Harrison. It was quite controversial at the time and was banned. He also wrote one of the first ever Psychedelic songs for The Chiffons called "Nobody Knows What's Going On In My Mind But Me", as well as writing many songs for bands such as The Creation, The Cyrkle, Peggy March and The Tokens. But the main reason we love him was for the solo album he made in 1966, 'Confections Of Love'. It is finally getting reissued on CD. "The Tapeworm Of Love" is one of his songs Misty's fans should know well as they end a lot of their gigs with it. "Anyone who can come up with the lyric "The Tapeworm of Love is eating my heart out over you" is a genius in my book!"

- They have toured extensively round Britain and on the continent, removing socks and putting hairs on chests with exhilarating live shows and have toured supporting bands such as The Magic Numbers, The Zutons, Guillemots, the Pipettes and Herman Dune. Plus, don't forget they have a multi-blue-handed dancing, er, dancer called Erotic Volvo who is credited on the album as providing "moral / ethical standards"

- Misty's have recorded sessions for Rob Da Bank on BBC Radio 1, Tom Robinson, and Phil Jupitus on BBC 6Music, Jon Kennedy and Claire Sturgess (who also named Misty's single "The Story Of Love" as her Single of the Year) on Xfm. They also had their Green Man Festival show broadcast on R1 and had a gig broadcast on Xfm as well as headlining Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone Live programme.
